About Us

Attorney James Bulthuis was fortunate to be mentored by some of the region’s great lawyers in trial practice, eminent domain, environmental law, construction and real estate litigation.  That experience allowed James to work on a broad range of cases and gain experience in all facets of litigation.  James had the opportunity to work on numerous multi-million dollar trials and arbitrations involving drycleaning contamination to land, leasehold valuations of cell towers in condemnations, business partnership dissolutions, failed (and successful) real estate ventures, and more.

Whether the dispute involves an individual’s life savings or a company’s bottom line for the year, James takes an aggressive but pragmatic approach to evaluate the case, advise his clients on their options, and implement the best strategy to meet the client’s needs. Litigation is expensive, and James has gained the experience necessary to advise clients on approaches which are worth the investment, and to avoid trivial fights which only waste money and emotional energy.

Story Of Attorney James Bulthuis

James came from humble beginnings and worked his way through school.  During that time, he met his first great mentor and had several opportunities to assist at trials, arbitrations, mediations and depositions.  This experience and his work ethic allowed him to graduate magna cum laude from Willamette University’s School of Law.  After graduating from law school, James moved to Seattle to practice law and continued to grow and learn the art of litigation.

James’s practice covers the entire Pacific Northwest, and it is not uncommon to find him enjoying a delicious meal of oysters on the Puget Sound one day, and hunting or fishing in the Bitterroot Mountains the next.  He is married to his wonderful wife, Caitlin, and together they enjoy backpacking, travel, and time with their family.
